I have always loved the ARTS and I have pushed it aside for too long! Yesterday during work as my mind began to wonder this thought popped into my head, "hey...Lacey Jo...hey...you need to sketch and paint again!" And my response to this thought was, uh ya I do!!! So I was very excited to be done with my shift at the salon so I could take a wonderful trip to MICHAELS. I count my tips to see how much my budget would be once I got there. $30 I was going to allow myself to spend ( I could spend a GaGillion dollars there)! Since there has been beautiful weather I have been driving with my window done and as I pulled into the parking spot at MICHAELS and I turn turn to roll up my window to see an old man next to it....Let me back up to an experience I had and then we will get back to this story....
So a couple weeks ago at work I am going through my tips and on a $20 dollar bill it read "From Jesus 2-U" when I saw this bill I was close to tears, it meant a lot to me, because I really felt that Jesus was sending me a message!!! Whenever I have the chance I give money to those that are in need of it, and when I saw this bill I knew it was meant for someone, it was not for me to spend, it was for an individual out there and I would then pass it on to them! I folded it up and kept it in my wallet, just waiting for that person to find me. This past weekend I went to a conference and while I was there I was in line to get a toe reading, while standing in line I told my mom the only cash I had on me was that $20 bill and I guess I could give it to whoever read my toes....as I sat and got my toes read I just felt so uneasy about giving that $20 bill away...I just didnt feel like it belonged to that person reading my toes. Being a hairstylist I feel like I have an obligation to tip well because I understand what it is like in the service industry, so I reached into my wallet and place the bill in her jar. As I went to meet up with my mom I just felt SICK! I felt sad and at the time and right now I would say I didn't know why, but that would be a lie, I knew exactly why, because I had given that bill away knowing it didnt belong to that person....
OKAY...let's continue! So as I glanced up I see this old man, he asks me if I have any money to spare. I look at him and I knew right then and there I was supposed to give him the $20 dollars! I turn to him and say, "Sir, I am so sorry...I had something for you and I gave it to someone else, this might sound totally crazy and weird, but I litterally had something for you and it was meant for you. I am so sorry and I hope you can forgive me! I might have something..." I hurry and go through my tip envelopes to see if I have any cash available or handy, he can see me frantically searching, he then says, "it doesn't need to be cash, coin is fine too." So I begin to look for my coins, because I am a horrder when it comes to coin, I finally find some and hand it to him, I apologize again and wish I could do more. He smiled and thanked me for what I gave. I wished him a wonderful day and he did the same, I finished rolling up my windows and when I got out of my truck I didn't see him anywhere! I looked around and I have no idea where he went. I then headed into MICHAELS to get my crafts. (oh I forgot to mention, before I headed to MICHAELS I went to the bank and deposited my cash....I NEVER do that!!!) I knew that, that cash was specifically for my art projects I'd be working on. I walk into MICHAELS and I find an oil paint set including 18 assorted colors for like $11 a set of 2 giant canvas' for only $5 and a bag of paint brushed for like $5 and some sticks of charcoal for $3 it was wonderful I left with all that I needed to begin my art again! And these are some of my creations so far!
